Servings: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 cup short grain rice
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
- Japanese classic, spicy, or sweet seaweed seasoning (to taste)
Instructions:
1. Prepare Rice:
- Rinse the short grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
- Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the rinsed rice to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute to lightly toast the grains.
2. Cook Rice:
- Add water, salt, and granulated garlic to the pan with the rice.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pan and let the rice simmer for 20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
3. Serve:
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to small serving bowls.
- Sprinkle your choice of Japanese classic, spicy, or sweet seaweed seasoning over the rice, according to your preference.
- Serve the seaweed rice bowls hot as a simple and flavorful side dish or light meal.
Enjoy!
